This 'vision fair' was inspired by several general members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® in January of 2003. In December of 2004, with over 70 members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® interested in this life-long journey, Emerging Pearls of Perfection became an interest group of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®  

 

Over the next year and a half, the general members of Emerging Pearls of Perfection began providing programming in the community. Such activities and programming included Big Sister for a Day, Emerging Black Professional Awards, National Volunteer Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, and a signature Charity Ball with a focus on HIV/AIDS awareness.

 

On May 21, 2005, Emerging Pearls of Perfection became Chi Chi Omega Chapter under the Central Region leadership of Dorothy Buckhanan. Forty-seven members of Emerging Pearls of Perfection became charter members of Chi Chi Omega Chapter. Kiahna Davis, organizer and interest group president, became the first president of the chapter.
